Super rich life is boring?

 Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hey friends

Recently, I played a game in my phone. Sorry I will not specify what is the name of the game. But, the game actually is the "altered" mode which I downloaded from google and I got tons of money already without even start to play yet. Of course in the normal game mode, every player is supposed to go through the game and collect some coins for upgrade your item.

But, with this "altered" game, I already became super rich or multi-billionaire or I can call it infinite-aire ๐Ÿ˜œ. Pretty good right? When I bought the new item, I will upgrade it to its peak performance without even need to think about the coins. After series of games, I started to feel boring because I don't find any challenge anymore. When I bought new item, I curious about how it works but afterwards I will feel boring and bought another item to explore and this mundane cycle kept repeating until I stop.

From this experience, I start to notice that actually super rich will be a boring life (of course everybody wants to be rich and keep growing rich). But, when we become super rich and our property at infinity level (just to describe about too much of money which we can't even imagine), at one point we will start to feel boring because no more challenge. We don't have the target and the struggle anymore and it will be a downright mundane life (at least for me).

But of course, in my real life, I am struggling with my work to get more pay to continue my live. But, to be super rich until I can get anything I want and my money growing to infinite level, I don't think it is my target.

GST VS SST : Consumer Perspective

 Assalamualaikum and hey friends,

Legends:

*GST = government service tax

*SST = Sales & service tax

It's been a while since my last post. I have commit to myself that I will write an entry by weekly basis but due to hectic life, I have skipped it (this is an excuse to make me feel better so that I won't feel inferior and disappointed over myself for not obeying my own habit. But, there is no busy excuse or no time except we are not make time for it).

Yesterday, I went to Dakgalbi in Gurney Plaza with my beloved wife. There we were served with korean style food which comprises of korean fried rice, ramen, kimchi & special marinated chicken or they called it as dakgalbi. The food was delicious and we were enjoying it so much. The server will cook in front of us and it's pretty easy to cook as they got the paste already and just mix every thing inside the pan.

Back to main topic, after I recieved the receipt, I saw there were 2 taxes but with the same words which were service tax. One service tax was 10% and another service tax was 6% and it cost me 16% of extra charge from the basic price. Nah pretty bad right? I remembered last few years, a lot of people especially youngsters did not agree with the government when they decided to implement the GST (6%). It was implemented for a while but it was stopped then replaced with SST.

Now, as a consumer, seriously I'm feeling depressing as I need to pay for 16% (SST) instead of 6% (GST) only ๐Ÿ˜ก. So those who fight against GST before, do you feel the same way as I am? I hope you will regret now for against GST. Now, I don't find anyone or any group who against SST publicly same as GST before. Maybe the protestants against GST are having more money and they thought it's better to pay higher tax ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Sorry, maybe from the economic perspective, I assume SST better (that's why people against GST before) , so I think I will need to read and study both pros and cons of SST and GST to make myself clearer. But as a consumer, to see 16% tax I need to pay instead of 6% only will make me feel bad, at least for now.

Show Off Your Work to Your Boss

 Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hey friends,

Today I would like to talk a bit on one of the imperative aspects in professional life which is show off your work to your boss. Hmmm how should I start ha? hmmm okay never mind. Actually, as an employee, we have to show whatever our progress in given work or show our work to our direct boss. After few years in the working life, I started to realise that this action is very important.

Few days back, I had a meeting with my boss regarding one of the issues related to my machines. All the high level information had been compiled in my own record which related to the issues. But, I never shared with him yet. I don't know why. Maybe I wait until everything is complete or I wait until everything is perfect or I wait until he asks about the progress. I also don't really understand this side of myself. But, whatever he asked during the meeting, I can directly showed to him as I did it already.

When I showed to him, it seemed he satisfied with it and also he said whatever I got the info and progress, I must to share with him so that we can further to the next steps. Yes he was right. Of course his boss also asked the same thing and he needed me to update him so that later he will be able to update to his boss also. We show our work progress is not necessary for the sake of increment and promotion only (the truth is we always wooing these ones right ๐Ÿ˜ ), but also for the sake our commitment in the job itself. So starting from today, I will strive to be always show my progress to my boss so that he will be satisfied with my performance (even now I got one completed task which not yet update to him yet๐Ÿ˜†).

The Enemy of Advance is Basic

 Assalamualaikum & hey friends,

Few days ago, I was having an online training for upscaling engineering knowledge in my factory. All engineers and above were compulsory and mandatory to attend this training. Of course it was free since the trainer is our own colleague. But, in this entry, I am not going to focus on the training content itself but rather to portray a lesson which I learned as per this entry title.

The participants were about 100++ people and I would say it was quite a huge number. During the training, the trainer did post 2 related questions before proceed to the actual contents and the participants were required to answer and post their own answers in the chatbox.

At first, I was not so interested to answer the questions but since the trainer urged everybody to answer, then I had no choice. But of course I did not want to be the first to answer the questions๐Ÿ˜œ. After I saw few people posted their answers, I felt reluctant to give my answers because their answers were differ from mine. I was not agreed with their answers but I also scared that my aswers would be wrong. The majority people had same answers but of course differ from mine๐Ÿ˜”. The power of majority had killed my confident. All the people from engineer to manager and director level had made my confident dropped significantly and I started to doubt my answers also.

After few seconds, there was one guy who had the same answers like mine. Then, my self-esteem came back and I posted my answers also. After a momnet, the trainer announced that there were only 4 people got answers right. Then the trainer started to explain the answers and guess what, my answers were right. Seriously, deeply I was jubilant at that time๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. If let say that one guy did not have the same answers as mine,  maybe I will not post my own answers and will be greatly regretted after trainer told the answers.๐Ÿ˜ฉ

At that time, I started to realize something which was the enemy of advance is basic. As I mentioned before, the people who answered differ (of course wrong also) from mine came from engineer, manager & director level. I would say their knowledge and experience of course advance many years compare to mine. But, when the trainer did ask the basic questions, all of them (except 4 people included me) got wrong even their knowledge and experience in the industry at the advance level already.

In conclusion, even our knowledge at advance level already, but sometimes we did not clear the basic yet. Thus, basic is really important so that it will be able to support the advance level as the base profusely. We have to reinforce our basic knowledge and progressively move to the advance level. Everybody will learn and nobody is perfect. Don't make your advance level as enemy to the basic.๐Ÿ˜‰

iPad Air 4th Gen + Smart Keyboard

 Assalamualaikum & hey friends,

Yesterday I just newly bought an iPad with Smart Keyboard. Actually, it’s been long time already since I planned to buy but due to constraint budget, so I keep delaying until yesterday. My wife and I are so happy to have another device from Apple. Other than this, I’m owning iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Pro Max, airpod, Apple Watch whereas my wife is owning iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 12, airpod & Apple Watch.

Seriously, once you bought an apple item, you will tend to buy more due to its profusely ecosystem. Personally, I fond of its ecosystem. But, of course to get Apple product, you might need to sacrifice some money due to its notorious expensive product.

This entry is not a review about this product, but more towards my sharing only. Here I will include the device price (after discount) together with smart protection plan (kind of insurance) just for your info (the price maybe will be a bit different if got any offer; like mine I got RM50 discount)

1) iPad Air 4th gen : RM2449.00

2) Smart Keyboard Folio : RM719.00

3) Smart Protection Plan : RM159.00

Total : RM3327.00

Nowadays, you don’t have to be impressed with people who got apple devices even with premium price. For example, you can easily find people who are using iPhone 13 pro max (latest iPhone ) because of below easiest own method :

1) Installment plan up to 2 years by apple authorised seller

2) Installment plan using mobile plan also up to 2 years

So, don’t assume people with apple devices are rich and vice versa. For me, whatever I bought from apple is something I will fully utilise it and of course the decision to buy will be after series of thinking and brainstorming with my wife.๐Ÿ˜œ

Book : Atomic Habit

 Assalamualaikum & hey friends,

I just finished another book few days back and here is the snippet which I can share with you

๐Ÿ“šBook

Atomic Habit by James Clear

๐Ÿ“œ3 Things in summay

- Habit is compound interest of self improvement ; 1% improvement we develop for ourselves for each day will result in almost 38 times better self (compare to our current self) in a year whereas 1% degradation in ourselves will lead to almost zero

- Habit either good or bad will be always in a continuous cycle of "Cue - Craving - Response - Reward "

- 4 steps to create a good habit is 1. Make it obvious 2. Make it attractive 3. Make it easy 4. Make it satifying

๐Ÿ’ตPrice

Super affordable price I got from shopee is around RM19.

๐Ÿ“ƒPages

271 (exclude notes/reference section)

๐Ÿ“–Other related contents

 - the best way to start a new habit

- the secret to self control

- how to make good habits inevitable and bad habits impossible

✅Advantage

Usually I will put disadvantage section here ; but since I don't find any which turn me into exasperation, then I will highlight its advantage. One of the fascinated things about this book is at the end of each chapter, the author had included a summary or crucial points. For me who just read few pages for each day and not in a 1 shot to finish the book, I find that this is kind of interesting approach by the author to strengthen his points to the readers and as a recap session to us as a reader. Due to this, I can declare that James Clear is one of my favorite author.

⚜️Suggestion

This book is highly recommended to those who want to improvise their daily habit, those who want to eliminate their bad habits, those who love to be productive in their daily errands etc..

Close Contact Covid 19

 Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hey friends,

Recently, it can be seen that there is almost 30k thousands for daily new cases for covid 19 in Malaysia (6 Mar '22 update : 27,181 cases). It looks very bad situation where Omicron variant spreads vigorously than previous variants. But, the effect is milder compare to the rest which is good news to us. Honesty, I am not so sure the milder effect due to majority of people got vaccinated or due this Omicron variant properties itself. Let the people in this field answer this one as I am not in medical field.

Back to the main topic of this entry. Actually, my wife and I currently under self quarantine due to close contact with my mother in law who is positive now. Last week, we went back to my wife hometown and everything looks well. But, on Saturay night, our mother started to feel chills and not feeling well. But, none of us suspicious anything because during that night, the surrounding environment pretty cold due to raining.

However, last night (Sunday night), our mother did swab test (RTK) and it was positive. So, all close contact need update mysejahtera apps and now all under quaratine due to no booster jab and having symptom. For current info, anyone who has been classified as close contact but aready get booster jab and no symptom will no need to quarantine anymore. I would say from day to day, the SOP start to be less stringent compare to before. But, let the government and Ministry of Health do their work.

Lastly,  I hope we will fully recover and return to good health condition back and do daily routine as per normal. Amiin. See you in my next entry.

Motion VS Action

Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hey friends

Currently I am reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. It's almost 50% of the book I have completed. Among the ideas that has been presented so far, I find something interesting (other ideas are good as well) which is motion and action.

In my own understanding, motion is the stage where we plan, strategize and learn whereas action is the stage where we put into practice. Usually, we tend to focus more on the motion instead of action because we scare of critism and failure. In the other word, we are always focusing on the motion stage as a medium to procrastinate failure since only action will have an outcome either success or failure.

Motion does not give any result unless we put it into action. Thus, it is very important to take action rather than being in a safe mode like in motion. By being in motion for a long time, we are deceiving ourselves that we are making progress but the truth is nothing unless there is an action.

For example, I am planning or brainstorming on the topics to write any entry in my blog where I am in motion mode. I can take whatever amount of time to plan and learn any topic to write. But, if I don't take any action to actually write the blog, then there will be no result at all.

The idea here is not to convey that motion mode like planning, strategizing and learning is not crucial, but action must be taken after motion mode then only we will see the result. Thus, after spending some time in the motion mode, then we need to transmute motion into its equivalent action for result.

Tips To Choose Book For Reading

Assalamualaikum and hey friends

In this entry, I would like to share some tips which I am using in selecting book which I'm going to read. Recently, my entry is pertaining to book because I am developing myself to be a great reader and bibliophile. Disclaimer : this is my own ways and maybe will not work for yourself . On top of that, whatever I will be listing here is something literally rife tips only and not just newly discovered for humankind civilization ๐Ÿ˜. Here we go :

๐Ÿ˜ Preferred Genre
Fundamentally, there are many genres of the book which available to us like spirituality, philosophy, comics, art, business etc. From person to person, surely it will be different. For instance, I would prefer something like self help (motivation), psychology, comics (especially english version) whereas my wife predilection is biography. So, choose your preferred genre or else your reading journey will be boring unless you are okay with any genre.

๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿป‍♂️ Suggestion
Sometimes, I decided to buy and read a book due to suggestion from someone. This someone can be my friend, notorious person, politician, or youtuber who loves to share about book. There are some books which I bought due to suggestion such as Surrounded by Idiots (suggested by Malaysia politician which I dont't want to mention here), my current reading book ; Atomic Habits (suggested by my favorite, productivity guru aka youtuber) etc.

๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ“•Physical book or ebook
Some people love to hold physical book (also its smell) while reading and the others prefer ebook. For me, I would prefer physical book. It's convenient for me to see my books properly arrange on the bookshelf. But, I also got some of the ebooks also which I bought before. Of course ebook having its advantage like you can read before sleep with light off condition (To those who having more budget would be suggested to buy kindle). But still, I am having more propensity towards physical book. My current practice is I will be reading physical book everyday as my axiomatic daily habit, but I'm also reading a beneficial blog before sleep as a replacement of ebook. To be honest, while reading blog entry with warmer display setting on my iphone will make me much more easier to fall asleep.

⚜️Language
I am a Malaysian and my mother tongue language is Malay language. But, my preference book is English. Maybe someone would say I am not having affection towards my own language. But, that's not the reason. Actualy, I want to improvise my english level (maybe in other entry in future, I will tell a story regarding my ordeal related to my english proficiency). But, there is a genre which I am totally prefer in my own languange which is spirituality or Islamic religious related.

๐Ÿ“– Thickness
Thickness is another prominent aspect for me in choosing a book to read. Usually, my preference will be around 200~ 300 pages which not too thick and not too thin. It's just nice. It is because the only available time for me to read during my weekday is in the night only. Thus, I will just need a typical book thickness so that it will not take me too long to finish and also not too short to digest.

๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป‍๐Ÿ’ปAuthor
Generally, this is not the main factor to me, but still can be one of the aspects in choosing the right book. Among the books which I have read so far, I think only one author which I bought most of his book. The rest of my books are mix of authors.

๐Ÿ’ธPrice/budget
Lastly but not least is the price or budget. Previously, I don't have an allocated budget to buy physical books, thus mostly I will buy ebook which cost very cheap price ; RM1. But now, I am having more budget and able to buy more physical books. Usually, I will try to choose a book which cost less than RM50 unless the book really entice me in some ways which make me totally forget about the budget or price, but so far I don't find any ๐Ÿ˜‚.

So that's all the tips which I am using in selecting my books. But, I am not restraint myself to all these tips also. Some books will fulfill all the tips, some cannot. We live in a world where ideal is not the case. Hopefully this entry will benefit to you. See you in my next entry

Book : Think and Grow Rich

 Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hey friends,

Another book which I just completed just now and here is my snippet sharing

๐Ÿ“šBook

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

๐Ÿ“œ 3 Things in summary

- A great desire to accumulate rich and fortune is needed in order to transmute it into its monetary equivalent

- The book had described 13 prominent steps on how to grow rich (I will not list here as I want you to get the book and read it on your own ๐Ÿ˜)

- There are 6 basics of fears which will prevent ones from being rich.

- Extra : If you can't control your mind, your mind will control you

๐Ÿ’ต Price

Seriously I forgot already how much I bought it from Popular Bookstore. I just checked in the Shopee and it costs around RM25 and you may get in Malay language version also.

๐Ÿ“ƒ Pages

273

๐Ÿ“– Other Related Contents

- 6 Practical steps on how to transmute desire into financial equivalent

- Symptoms of lack of persistence

- 13 major causes of failure

๐Ÿšซ Disadvantage

From my own view, there is a part where it is purely related to business (blatantly the book title will be related to business๐Ÿ˜ช) which I am not quite interested so far. During that time, I am almost give up to continue and but gratefully I don't.

⚜️ Suggestion

I want to suggest to anyone who seek the fortune to be rich. But, of course after you read it, I would say you still can't be rich but at least, you will know on how other successful people grow rich which we can imitate to accumulate fortune also

Philosophy of Fish

Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hi,

This week, I have been thinking on what topic I should write in my weekly entry in this blog. For your info, one of the habits which I am currently practicing is to write an entry weekly. Seems too easy to commit right ? That's why I am trying with small habit first. It's better we develop a small habit but in a continuous commitment rather than a big habit but in the spasmodic mode and eventually we stop due to not able to commit anymore.

Ok back to the main topic. When I was in secondary school, one of the advises given by my father was to be like a fish. At first, I couldn't get the message but after a snippet explanation, then only I understood.

If we catch a fish from sea, and we want to cook for food, we need to put salt, turmeric powder and others to fry it so that it will be tasty or else it will be tasteless. Of course if tasteless, we will loss appetite unless you are on extreme diet ๐Ÿ˜œ. But, do you notice something? Here's the philosphy of the fish kicks in.

We catch fish from sea (salty environment) but when we want to cook it, we still need to put pinch of salt to make it taste just nice. In the other word, fish never been influenced by its environment even has been living in salty condition.

It same goes to ourselves. We have to be like a fish which never been influnced by the environment whenever we are. Of course to be influenced by good environment is good, but what I mean here is to be influenced by negativity and stray us from good path. We have to develop ourselves so that we won't be easily affected by negative environment like a fish. Hope anyone who read this will be like a fish. It's good to take lessons from our surrounding and makes them our principles (only good ones ya). Stay safe everyone with rising daily covid cases recently in Malaysia.

My New Books in 2022

Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hi,

In this entry, I just would like to share some of the books which I just recently bought from Shoppee. Actually, one of my wish lists for this year 2022 is to buy at least 5 physical books. In the previous year, usually I just targeted to get around 3 books. But since this year I got more budget, thus I increased the quantity.

In the previous years, usually I would go to Popular bookstore and try to get any books which caught my eyes and heart. There was no any bucket list which I listed to buy before went there.

But this year, it's quite difference since I got already few books in mind due to suggestion from my newly favorite youtuber in productivity (almost every day I watch his video and record any crucial items).

And also, once I checked in the shoppee, the price is cheap and very reasonable which I was shocked also that time.

So below are the books together with the price (maybe if you make more survey  in Shoppee, you will get even cheaper ones) which potentially might be your bucket list also

1. Atomic Habits by James Clear (RM17.88)

2. Mindset : The New Psychology of Success by Carol S.Dweck (RM21.88)

3. Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans (RM21.18)

4. What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20 by Tina Seelig (RM21.99)

5. The Making of A Manager by Julie Zhuo (RM21.18)

Total = RM103.41 (I got less than RM100 included postage fee because the seller provided voucher and I got free shipping voucher also)

If you want to buy from the same seller, you may search "I Reader" in Shoppee. (disclaimer : literally i was not paid by the seller as i am not that "notorious" enough to influence others ๐Ÿ˜‚)

For me the price is too affordable when compare to the knowledge which I will be getting while reading all these books. I'm eagerly and ethusiastically looking forward  to read all those books since curently I am still reading other book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

Hope my sharing will be benefical to anyone who read this entry.

Toxic Productivity

 Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Everyone is demanding and hoping for a productive and efficient life. Our life is short and that's why we need to make sure whatever we do in our life must be something precious and beneficial to ourselves and others.

Recently, I started to feel like I need to be really efficient and productive with my life. So I searched for how to be productive so on and so forth. I even try to develop and nurture new habits and keep monitoring its progress through a premium habit app (you may refer to my previous post).

After few weeks I am living with so called a "productive life", I realized that I got something but I lost something. What I mean to say is yes I am being productive in terms of new habits which I am practicing but, I lost big portion of time with my wife.

I'm too obsessed with my new habits and indirectly I have limited precious time with my wife. Now I am thinking that I am just being toxic productive instead of what I am aiming for. I know even my wife is not complaining, but in her heart, she would feel sad with my style on the journey to be productive life .

So my plan now is I will try to improvise my ways to be productive in term of schedule and so on by balancing it and make it right. It's no value if I am being like this toxis productive.

My last words, try to balance ourselves so that we won't be too obsessed with one side productivity while sacrificing the other side which I called it as toxic productivity.

App Suggestion : Habit tracker

** Disclaimer : I wasn't sponsored by the developer for this entry

Assalamualaikum w.b.t & hi,

Everyone wants to be productive & efficient in their life. That's a default human behavior. But, a lot of people fail to do so due to many factors like lazy, procrastinate, and so on

Few weeks back, I found an app from my apps store (sorry I am not so sure for android user, you may check it out if got any) which was Habit tracker by Davetech Co Ltd. This app generally about the habits which we would like to track our daily habits or in a simpler word, our to do list habits.

I have been using it since few weeks back without fail for any single day and I found it very interesting. The app very minimalist with attractive decoration, user friendly & fun.

For myself, I bought a premium version which costs me just RM19.90 for one life time payment. The reason I bought the premium one because it's literally cheap and also I want to make sure that I will regularly use it since it costs me money (even not too expensive). We know that whenever we need to pay for something, then we will fully utilize it so that we won't waste our money for nothing. That's me and I believe other people also like that.

Overall rating I can say that it worth for 4.8 out of 5 . Thus, those who seek a productive, effective life, I would suggest you get one with premium version so that you will have habit tracker to follow and obey. Any apple user, you may use below link to download the app. But, for android user, I am sorry again as I don't have any android device anymore in my house, but still I believe this app should be available to be downloaded.

Habit, Track link for apple user: https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1438388363?pt=75160805&ct=sharelink&mt=8
